Sunday, May 24th, 2009NASA Will Try to Launch A Rocket in Virginia Tonight
Tuesday, May 5th, 2009Completely off the normal topic of the blog but NASA is going to (try to) launch a satellite from their Wallops Island Flight Facility in Virginia between 2000 and 23oo hrs Tuesday 5/5/09. The rocket that they intend to launch is a Minotaur I and is known for it’s brilliant rocket fire. It’s expected that the rocket could be visible from up to 800 miles away. You can follow the status of the launch on the Wallops Island twitter account. Here’s a Google Map link, it’s about 3.5 hrs from DC. Just too cool not to share.
